Burial Services Section

The Burial Services Section, operating under the Ministry of Local Government and Inner Islands, plays a pivotal role in managing and maintaining public cemeteries across the islands of Mahe, Praslin, and La Digue in Seychelles. With the responsibility bestowed upon it in 2022, the Ministry has diligently overseen the administration of these final resting places, ensuring dignity and respect for departed loved ones.

On the main island of Mahe, the Ministry oversees a total of 13 public cemeteries:

• Mont Fleuri
• Baie Lazare – Anse Soleil
• Baie Lazare – Opposite Fuel Station
• Takamaka
• Anse Boileau – Anse Louis
• Anse Boileau – La Salette
• Anse Royale – Sweet-Escott
• Anse Royale – Mont Plaisir
• Anse Aux Pins
• Cascade
• Port Glaud
• Glacis
• Bel Ombre

The island of Praslin, known for its pristine beauty, is served by five public cemeteries managed by the Ministry.

La Digue, with its unique charm and tranquility, has one public cemetery maintained by the Ministry.
