Origin of Name and History

The Baie Ste Anne District was originally named as Anse L'Amour. It got its name by Catholic Priest Father Leon Des Avancher” in the year 1851.

Community Facilities and Services

The Baie Ste Anne Praslin District has various community facilities and services at the benefit of the inhabitants. Such includes:  One Primary School, One Creche, One playing field, One Community Centre, One Day Care Centre, Two Multi Purpose Courts and One Roman Catholic Church, One Hospital, One Port and One Police Station.

Location

Baie Ste Anne Praslin is situated on the South east part of Praslin and is enclosed by the headland of “Au Morne” in the North and that of “Fond Ferdinand” in the south where the jetty is located.

The curving coast is made up of 5 beaches: Anse Takamaka, Anse Bonnet Carre, Anse Madge, Anse L’amour, Anse Badamier and Anse Lafarin.

Districts Logo and Motto

The district’s logo and motto depict the district as the economic heart of Praslin, teeming with life and activity, the island of intrepid seafarers with forefathers skilled in boat building, a real community where traditional values and good community spirit still prevail, known for its splendid Cote d’Or, its popular jetty, and the ‘Roche Boke” cross and of course a growth centre for the future.
