Roche Caiman
Origin of Name and History
Roche Caiman was named after a large outcrop of granite which was found there and apparently long ago the place was a habitat for alligators which lived among the mangroves.
Community Facilities and Services
The Roche Caiman District has various community facilities and services at the benefit of the inhabitants. Such includes: One Playground, One Community Centre, One Playing Field and One Multi Purpose Court.
Location
The Roche Caiman District is situated on the East Coast of Mahe and is a massive area of reclaimed land created in 1985, especially to provide additional land for housing projects due to the growing population. It borders Les Mamelles, Plaisance, Mont Fleuri and Cascade on the highway.
Districts Logo and Motto
The District’s Logo with motto represents the caimans or crocodiles first found here, newly created district, one of the most modern housing estate, with fabulous facilities nearby, catering both for leisure activities for the serious sportsmen, with its popular bird sanctuary, where all who live here may reside – side by side “En Harmonie, Paix et Santé”.
Sub DistrictsThe District is made up of five sub-districts and they are: RC Area 1, RC Area 2, RC Area 3C1/C2, RC Area 4 and Area Bor lanmer.

St.Louis
Origin of Name and History
Saint Louis is named after Saint Louis de Gonzaque (1568-1591) who was the patron saint of the College for Boys that was established in 1867 by the Brothers of Christian Instruction. Saint Louis College was a boarding school institution that lasted until 1948 when it was replaced by the Seychelles College (1948-1981)

The Saint Louis District has various community facilities and services at the benefit of the inhabitants. Such includes one Secondary School, two playing fields and one multi-purpose court.
Location
Part of the Central Region of the main island Mahe, Saint Louis is partially positioned in the centre of the capital while branching out over to the other district boundaries namely English River, Mont Buxton, Bel Air, Beau Vallon and Port Glaud.
Districts Logo and Motto
The District’s Logo with motto represents and signifies a district of historical landmarks, also known for the “Lavalas” of 1862 where part of the hills crumbled to form the foreshore of the Freedom Square, today the business district and, through Market Street, the “melting pot” of Mahe, the district stands “Resolute and Undaunted” despite the ravages of time, safeguarded by the presiding Trois Freres hills
Sub DistrictsThe District is made up of eight sub-districts namely: Waterloo, Serret Road, Stevenson Delhomme, Dan Coco, Belonie, Roche-Bois, Hangard Street & Kato Road.

Takamaka
Origin of Name and History
It is not clear exactly when the first settlement was built in Takamaka. Nevertheless, it is commonly agreed that the District got its name owing to the large number of Takamaka trees found along most of its beaches.
Community Facilities and Services
The Takamaka District has various community facilities and services at the benefit of the inhabitants. Such includes one Day-Care centre, one Primary School, one playing field, one Community Centre, one Multi-Purpose Court, one Roman Catholic Church and two Denominations.
Location
Takamaka is the Southernmost District of Mahe with an approximate distance of 26 kilometres from Victoria. The majority of its active population commute for two and a half hours on every working day to travel to and from their place of work. Takamaka can be reached from two districts namely Anse Royale on the north-eastern side and Baie Lazare from the north-western side.
Districts Logo and Motto
The District’s logo and motto represent the district’s two famous beautiful beaches, Anse Intendance and Anse Takamaka which probably got its name because of the abundance of Takamaka trees found along the stretch of the beach, reputed for the bell that was hung in the takamaka trees to announce the time of worship to the villagers, Intendance was for a long time famous for its unique but peculiar coconut palm with a branching shoot
Sub DistrictsThe District is made up of eleven sub-districts and they are: Bougainville, Anse Parnel, Anse Forbans, Anse Marie Louise, Upper Quatre Bornes, Lower Quatre Bornes, Upper Takamaka, Lower Takamaka, Dan Penpen, Intendance and Grand Police.
