Department of Local Government Launches Community Based Outdoor Play Facilities

Mont Fleuri Wins both Traditional Dance Categories

Dancers from Mont Fleuri district won the Traditional dance competition in the 17-35 years and the 36+ year categories.  The competition organized by the Local Government Department in collaboration with the National Agency for Creative Industry and Events (CINEA) took place on the evening of Wednesday 30^th October at the ICCS. 

The event did showcase great talents of our local dancers and was well attended by supporters from various districts.  Below are the results of the evening:

Category 17-35 years

1. Mont Fleuri
2. Takamaka
3. Anse Etoile

Category 36+ years

1. Mont Fleuri
2. Cascade
3. Bel Air

The Jury panel based their decision on costume, posture, knowledge of the dance and the steps when performing.  The event was well enjoyed although not all district could be winners.
