Ile Perseverance is a reclaimed Island. Dredging work was undertaken by the dredger Marco Polo from Holland with work starting in 2002. Ile Perseverance got its name following a national competition launched in order to name certain newly reclaimed islands. It is one of the biggest housing project ever undertaken by the Government of Seychelles in respect to the housing need of the people of Seychelles.
Ile Perseverance is also surrounded by the sea and there is potential for fishing.
